We are true design & build specialists, creating what you want, building any style and size of home using any kind of cladding, roofing product, etc  you choose.  We work with a range of manufacturers regarding appliances and fittings throughout your whole project.

Homecreators is a privately owned building company on the Kapiti Coast.  Owner and ex carpenter, Dave Smithson has been building new homes on the Kapiti Coast since 1987.

We are a family run building company with more than 200 years combined experience in the family alone!   Eight members of the family are the heart of Homecreators Homes.  Dave & Janette, Jeremy, Dan, Ben, Uncle Ray, Paul (Brother in Law) and Dad - Keith, bring a wealth of combined building industry experience to the company.  We have a total of 13 family members working for or contracting to Homecreators Homes.

We are extremly fortunate to have carpenters in our team who began with us as apprentices and are now training new apprentices.  This gives us a depth of experience that is a real advantage in the industry today.  The fact that our team stay with us is an indication that our drive for excellence extends not just to our clients but to the building teams as well.

In November 2007 the licensed building practioner scheme was introduced by the Dept of Building & Housing with a 3 year phase in period.  By 2010 some types of building work will need to be supervised or carried out by a licensed practioner.  To become licensed, a person needs to prove they have met the national standards of a particular license.  For example, the Carpentry, Site 2 and Design 2 licenses held by Dave show he is amongst the first few who have met the national standards relating to moderately complex residential or commercial buildings.
